Not everyone has an oven, but that does not mean that you have to deprive yourself of cake. In this miniseries I will show you several ways to make delicious cake without an oven, fuzz or unnecessary drama.
First we have a German classic, which we sell at Uncle Klaus in Saigon, just in case you want to have a taste. It is called "Kalter Hund", which literally translates to cold dog. If you think that is weird go have a hot dog then. This cake is made from chocolate ganache and your favorite butter biscuit.
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
3 eggs
70 g cocoa powder
125 g powdered sugar
a few drops of honey to taste
200 g coconut oil
ca. 150 g butter biscuits (not naming any brands here)
Steps:
Mix eggs, cocoa, sugar and oil ( in that order).
Add honey.
Take a cake form and layer with aluminum foil. Layer in a spoonful of ganache. Place a layer of cookies, then follow up with the ganache again. Repeat until you are out of ganache or cookies. Finish with one layer of ganache. Refrigerate for 1 hour and dust with cocoa powder or powdered sugar. Enjoy!
