@danielzawacki41924 years ago - Looks a lot like the old 286-486 generation builds I started in, when "building a computer" meant taking a few non functioning machines apart and frankensteining a working "IBM Compatible" machine out of the parts. Cable management? What's that? Ribbon cables for DAYS!
Seriously though - Good on him! This dude put together his own machine at 15 from his own earnings. This guy's going places! ... 1

@dyent4 years ago it's a Supernatural themed build. SW and DW are for Sam Winchester and Dean Winchester, the car is actually a Chevy impala, and the license plate is the same as the car has in the show. The car being sat on top of a pentagram was the giveaway for me. ...

@spookykid6664 years ago I just recently made a desk from a 98 inch ikea Karlby countertop and the alex drawers, I would suggest getting the signum cable managements for some of the people who didn't do any management on theirs. I grabbed two of those and an extra leg for the back middle to manage the cables and it makes it nice and easy. ...

@kylestewart44444 years ago Maybe I’m completely wrong but I feel like I might have been among the first group of people to do that “Alex drawers with a stand alone ikea table top” setup. I remember feeling so clever for figuring that out way back in like 2010-2011. I remember comparing all available desks with the same amount of drawer storage and desktop space and they were all at least double the price of the ikea route. I’m on my second iteration of that setup now and both have served me incredibly well for very cheap. ...

@woodworkerroyer84973 years ago Home Depot won't do specific size cuts. At least the one near me doesn't.
They WILL cut it, but it is probably not going to be an exact measurement, more like to the nearest inch or so.
But you can get a plywood sheet broken down that way and then use your circular saw to get it exact once you have it home, and out of the Accord's trunk... ...

@MikeKeller4 years ago Looking at all these setups, and the frequent complaint about under desk cable management, I didn't see a single uninterruptible power supply. That actually helps with cables and protects your expensive hardware.
