@420starchild3 years ago Problem with pokemon now is pokemom wants you to have moments that make you feel good by making you overcome a challenge, so they make it easier to overcome the challenges. Not realizing that doing so literally makes it not challenging and there for doesn't give you that feeling at all. Instead making you feel like "haha wow I'm really overpowered, this is fun I guess" until that just devolves into spamming A during any battles since your too overleveled for type to even matter. I've just been breaking through the game with a luxray using only charge, not being punished for this since I can switch to my starter who's been piggybacking levels to deal with any ground types. The reason the exp share is busted is because you can't get punished for using only one mon 98% of the time. ... 7

@Daeneras3 years ago One reason your always over leveled is because since they want to be “faithful remakes” the levels are the same for the opponents team, but since exp share is always on and you get levels from catching Pokémon, your always gonna be higher level than the opponent. I think they should’ve at least balanced the games around the new exp share like gens 6, 7, and 8. ... 39

@AndyShoumi3 years ago I had to 1V1 Cynthia's Garchomp with my Mamoswine to win. I specifically kept him at full health during the entire battle, just to save it for Garchomp. I was underleveled and he was the only Pokémon that could take it down. I got a lucky crit with the first Ice Shard to get rid of the berry and then just took the rest of his health away with a second Ice Shard. I was scared, because during my first Ice Shard, he set up a Swords Dance and I knew that I'd be fucked if I couldn't kill him with my second Ice Shard. If it weren't for priority Ice STAB, I would have definitely lost against her.
I also agree with you that the majority of the game was a cakewalk. I was overleveled through the entirety of the game. Literally nothing before the Pokémon League could stop me. However, it was really nice how they actually managed to make a last minute twist and turn the Pokémon League into an actual challenge. The fully IV and EV trained Pokémon with held items and (sort of) competitive builts really caught me off guard. Not to mention that the sudden level jump managed to catch up with my entire team. My highest Pokémon, Empoleon, was level 63 during the Cynthia battle. The others were either level 61 or 62. Even if I managed to beat the Pokémon League on my first try, that was solely due to the healing items and the weird friendship mechanic. ... 2

@frostysoulz14493 years ago I played through this game with Torterra, Octillery, Clefable, Drapion, Bronzong, and Magmortar, and Cynthia absolutely wrecked me on my first try. Barely managed to win on the second try with a lucky Hypnosis from Bronzong on her Garchomp so I could safely switch in and Ice Beam it down with Clefable. It was insane, and I'm glad they made Cynthia even more difficult than the original games. ...

Thought I had to do something to unlock a bridge or something and got stuck. Passed the time just leveling them against wild Pokemon and catching until I noticed one day returning back I can go further in one spot and realized what the puzzle is. It's so much better. It fits the whole Eterna forest setting and Gardenia's design so well.
Flowers are Floaroma Town's thing, not Eterna City.
And Gardenia looks much more like a ranger than a florist. ...
