NATO has scheduled an emergency meeting today as tensions grow between Turkey and the Russian-backed Syrian government. Ankara is vowing retaliation after Syrian forces killed at least 33 Turkish soldiers in an airstrike in northwestern Syria. It's calling for an international no-fly zone to protect the Idlib region's civilian population and has threatened to open its border with Europe, letting millions of Syrian refugees through. Further military action threatens to put Ankara on a collision course with Moscow. @erorristinc10374 years ago As a Turkish citizen, I have seen the issue in Syria . Look , I don’t know where you live but think like this.
Your neighbor country is having a civil war, and your boundaries are in danger . People are dying, and the ones who did these also have a looong history with your country. What would you do? Keeping your boundaries safe right? That is what we are trying to. During the civil war millions of Syrian people immigrated to Turkey, even when we weren’t in Syria. It all came to a point that we had take some control over our boundaries and the places near it. Nearly hundreds of Turkish soldiers died while protecting innocents and our boundaries. Our soldiers are dying for protecting people , while Millions of Syrians are living in Turkey not even caring about their own country. They are making child marriages, raping women , smoking , attacking, harassing women bc they are not “covered” , living freely without paying any taxes, filling streets with arabic things, voting, acting unrespectful to our founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and our soldiers are dying for their lang. EU and Turkey’s contract was that we will take Syria and they will help us about the money. Where is the help, cuz I don’t see it. There are 4 million Syrians in Turkey , I’m not even counting the ones that lives here illegally.
Only 4 years ago the same people tried to take control over government in 15th of July 2016 . They blocked the bridge in İstanbul the killed people mercilessly. People had stand in front of the tanks . Sacrificing themselves. It still has so many scars on us.
And today I just started my day to learn that 33 Turkish soldiers were killed . Instagram, twitter and youtube were all blocked till 3pm . When I checked the media do you know what I saw huh?
I saw people making fun of our dead , brave soldiers. Saying :
“oH rUsSiA cOoKeD TuRkEY” or “ItS nIce aLL oF tHE tUrKiSh tErRoristts mUsT bE kiLLeD.”
It’s not funny, your are only laughing at this because it’s not happening to you. It could have been your child that died there.
Do you even know us , our history? Did you ever think that they had families, husbands, wifes, fathers, mothers and children!? Did bir you ever thought how many of children will grow up not knowing their parents . You don’t because you are not there, you are sitting at your home thinking that it doesn’t matter.
So before you make a comment, please do your research well and don’t forget to look from the other side of this war.
