And... almost two weeks after my absolute BOP of a shoe-disinfecting video...
I'm coming atcha today with another outdoor bouldering video! Here I talk about some of the differences I've noticed when making the transition from indoor to outdoor bouldering. Let me know if there's anything I've missed! As somewhat of an outdoor bouldering novice, I'm sure there's something else that can be added :-)
Hope you enjoy this video! I don't know why it took so long to produce and edit, but I'm glad to finally send it out into the world. Sometimes it's hard to juggle Youtube and work (I'm literally typing this description while I have an experiment running in the lab) but talking to y'all in the description and hanging out makes it all worth it! Peace :--)

I love your videos! it' d be cool if you mentioned another difference between outdoor and indoor: respecting access issues. it and i' d say for the most part it' s in a climber' s best interest to respect temporary bans (or acess rules like staying on a track) good relationships with the custodians of the landscapes we enjoy is the only way to keep our sport viable long term. there are often crews you can join to help clean your local park, and represent climber' s in a positive light too. @lterego5 years agoGreat video! I really enjoy your channel. Just some thoughts about the different styles of climbing and implications. There are some types of climbs that - slabs (your toes might hurt more, depending on the shoes) - mantles (train those triceps, or you might end up cramping) - cracks (bring tape and tape up if needed) that being said - this variation in problems is one of the things making bouldering outdoors so much fun. Also jumping on types problems you don' t usually climb will develop your skills more. ...Expand

@
@danimaster66474 years agoWith one statement i disagree with: you should only climb with friends outside. the true advantage of bouldering compared to climbing is that you' re let' s be honest and it' s just more apealing to climb big walls who are 20 meters high with the possibility to go even higher on multi pitch climbes than to climb 2-3 meter blocks. For that however you need experienced friends who know their equipment. let' s say you have a specific day in mind and you find no one to climb with you. You can still go bouldering and when responsible the danger really isn' t that high. ...Expand1
