@roland19127 months ago Here's the thing about Walmart, they didn't become an obscenely wealthy global corporation by paying their workers properly, or allowing them to unionize, or providing benefits, perks, etc. At any given moment, there are literally thousands of pending lawsuits against Walmart for unpaid wages, breaking labor laws, etc... In some countries, Walmart doesn't pay their employees money. They pay them in Walmart gift cards. This company is beyond F'd up, and I'd love to see the company bulldozed to the ground, with the Waltons still inside. ... 15

@shinmo21317 months ago Spark was incredible when I first started.
My 2nd week of working, I cleared just shy of 3k & the following weeks were also in the thousands. Just delivering groceries, minimum shopping orders.
    It was heaven.
Fast forward to today & its the polar opposite lol!
Our area was doing fine, but this group of about 12-18 people showed up, all using at least 2-3 phones each & completely killed our market.
I went from 10-20 orders on a Sunday, to barely scraping 5 orders, & that’s starting at 7am until 10pm
I’m not the only regular who stopped getting orders.
So I’m pretty sure they’ve got to be using bots & multiple phones.
One lady shopped a order, took it to the car, came back in & started shopping again, then a guy with a buggy full of groceries took her extra phone, checked out his order, loaded it into the same car, & drove off.
There was also a child no older than 9-10 shopping an order.
    It’s crazy over here.

@S1mL1fe7 months ago I agree with what you said. They have much more they should focus on then spark just my opinion. Their prices aren’t even good anymore compared to Aldi and DG. Their biggest selling point is ease of service like you can shop, get tires and an oil change, get a hair or eye appointment and have things delivered all from one place. Independent contractors is their best bet to stay relevant I think in the next 5 years. If their CEO was half intelligent he’d look at how much it’s saving them to have IC’s just start doing all the deliveries from start to finish but he doesn’t seem too smart ... 5

@nicksellsatl56607 months ago There is no way logistically they can meet the demand for same day or one day delivery without spark drivers, especially since store turnover of walmart employees is at a record high. Amazon is bigger than Fedex in logistics, and dwarfs walmarts capability and they can't hire flex drivers fast enough to meet demand. So no way walmart who doubles amazon in retail sales, and grocery could ever meet demands with store employees. Now that doesn't equate to them not using store employees, or cutting costs as much as they can with spark, that will be the driver decision on what they are willing to work for, but spark isn't going away anytime soon. Hell my local walmart said it could double the amount of total store employees it has, and still not have enough people to meet the in store shopping demands they have, no way they could staff drivers and again they turnover employees like people do a pillow. ... 6

@garyday66817 months ago I have talked with real pizza delivery drivers, They say its good money, delivieries are close, sometimes they get fuel help but they do a gazillian deliveries per shift and do work at the store when not delivering. With the amount spark pays now which is a min of 3 orders is disrespectful. Pizza delivery sounds much better. ... 4

@ElSenorBeliever7 months ago Does this genius at Walmart realize that insuring drivers that are w-2s is extremely expensive. If they get into an accident, Walmart has to pay for the rehab and any other expenses. When you use 1099 employees, it's all on us. ... 1

@D-Blaze9177 months ago I quit spark last year because the tip baiting was getting out of hand, orders were being taken left and right before I could claim it, the item count and base pay was ridiculous, no instant pay. All and all spark is not good working for and From watching this video, I knew it wouldn’t get no better. ... 1

@timcurtis40416 months ago I use to live in another state and worked at a walmart there for several years. I eventually quit walmart and got full-time at another job. I moved to a different state to be closer to family. I applied for Sparks. The emailed me and said they couldn't verify my identity. I replied with an email and explained that I worked for walmart, etc, etc. I explained everything clearly. They replied the same way and said my applying for Sparks is closed. 🤔 ... 1

@dashdeception7 months ago The thing about using other people's identity to deliver is so common. I can see why it's an issue but at the same time it doesn't seem like Doordash does anything at all and I don't feel like narcing the drivers out. ... 1

@bearkiti99746 months ago The driver verification through photo or drivers license every time before you can confirm arrival would stop some of the crap. In our area the number of Spark drivers is 3-4 times more than it was 4 months ago. I predict that before they go to Walmart w-2 drivers here they will reduce the base pay on Spark and only allow Spark drivers to get trips and shop...no more 3rd party apps bye Uber Eats, Roadie, Point Pickup etc... ...

I put their name on a list and i will never deliver to them again..spark needs to let the tip stay once the cusomer has agreed from the beginning. I hardly do spark anymore i can make more from DD ... 1
